ETF Press Conference
European Commission’s Road Initiative: Not our kind of social Europe!
Members of the press are cordially invited to attend an ETF press conference to be held on:
Thursday 30 March 2017 at 12.00
at
the ETF premises Galerie Agora Rue du Marché aux Herbes 105 1000 Brussels
The ETF will unveil the measures the European Commission intends to include in the Road Initiative, likely to be published on 31 May 2017. The ETF will provide concrete evidence of the critical impact these measures will have on passenger safety, road safety, on driver health and safety and ultimately on the attractiveness of the driver profession.
Coach and truck drivers, as well as union officials from Belgium, Denmark and Spain will attend the event, an opportunity for the press to get acquainted with their views on the future of the sector.
The ETF will equally reveal its campaign for a social road initiative to be launched on Friday 31 March 2017. One of the key moments of this campaign will be the European demonstration planned for 26 April 2017. These actions fully subscribe to the ETF constant plea for a Fair Transport in Europe.
Reports and publications will be made available on the spot to illustrate the real state of the EU haulage market. The ETF has concrete proposals on how to address issues related to road safety, precarious work and unfair competition in road transport and will be ready to share them with you on 31 March.
A light lunch will be provided from 12.30 onwards at the ETF premises.
