The new joint project of the European social partners for sea fisheries has kicked off! The ETF Fisheries Section and Europêche had already selected external consultants for the two aspects of the project. Now, on 13 June 2019, the met them in Hamburg to discuss the way forward.
- The International Maritime Health Association presented their approach to producing guidelines for fishers’ medical examinations.
- Key Traceability introduced their proposal for preparing guidelines on decent recruitment of migrant fishers.
The participants also talked about the priorities for a redesign of the Fishery Speak smartphone app. They also made initial plans for their meetings with national administrations about the implementation of international regulations.
