The ETF Inland Waterways section represents more than 15,000 union members in the sector consisting of 89% men and 11% women.  39 ETF-affiliated unions from 22 countries organise workers in the inland waterways sector.

THE ETF Inland Waterways SECTION GOVERNING BODY

2022 – 2027

Based on the results of the election taking place in January 2022 – ahead of the 6th ETF Congress in May 2022 – the composition of the section’s Steering Committee is as follows:

In order to defend and improve social rights in the European Inland Waterways sector, the section carries out various activities, such as:

• Representing workers in the Rhine Commission, the European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Inland Waterways, experts’ meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and working groups;
• Organising seminars to develop European and international legislative frameworks in line with our objectives;
• Monitoring and tackling possible employers’ strategies to avoid the application of European social rights;
• Conducting and executing European projects in research and capacity building;
• Organising and coordinating European campaigns.
